Gebze Elektrik, Adapazarý Elektrik, Ýzmir Elektrik
Operation of the Power Plants
Following a successful development and construction period, the 1554 MW Gebze, 777 MW Adapazarý and 1523 MW Ýzmir plants started commercial operation as of October 2002 and March 2003, respectively, under the Energy Sales Agreement by the Build Own Operate concept.

Each power island in these natural gas-fired combined cycle power plants consists of two combustion turbines/generators, two heat-recovery steam generators and one steal turbine/generator. In the Gebze and Adapazarý Power Plants, natural draft dry cooling towers serve each power island, whereas in the Ýzmir plant, low-profile forced draft wet cooling towers were built, using seawater as a cooling medium.

Since their inception, the three power plants have generated more than 132 billion kwh power as of October 2007.

The Health, Safety, Environmental Management System at the plants is in compliance with the international standards for environmental management (ISO 14001 series) and health and safety management (OHSAS 18001 series), as published by the International Standards Organization.
