In line with its goal of becoming a self-sufficient school, ENKA Schools- Adapazar\u0131 has focused on sustainable animal husbandry and agriculture practices under the Permaculture Club.<\/p>\n
Within the scope of Sustainable Animal Husbandry;<\/p>\n
Waste food collection boxes were placed in the school building and uneaten foods of the students were collected and sent to the animal shelter in the campus.
\nThe mowed lawns in the campus were dried and used during the winter to feed sheep and goats.
\nEggs grown on animal shelter were given to students, some were cooked in the dining room and some were placed in the incubator in the school, so the students could follow the growing process of new chicks.<\/p>\n
Within the scope of Sustainable Agriculture;<\/p>\n
Feces that accumulate in the animal shelter have been used as fertilizer in the agricultural lands of the school.
\nThe wood from the pruned trees in the campus is used as fuel and some of them were used to create living areas to help the incubation processes.
\nThe Permaculture Club students took care of trees in the area and picked fruit at fruit picking season.
