In line with its goal of becoming a self-sufficient school, ENKA Schools- Adapazarı has focused on sustainable animal husbandry and agriculture practices under the Permaculture Club.
Within the scope of Sustainable Animal Husbandry;
Waste food collection boxes were placed in the school building and uneaten foods of the students were collected and sent to the animal shelter in the campus.
The mowed lawns in the campus were dried and used during the winter to feed sheep and goats.
Eggs grown on animal shelter were given to students, some were cooked in the dining room and some were placed in the incubator in the school, so the students could follow the growing process of new chicks.
Within the scope of Sustainable Agriculture;
Feces that accumulate in the animal shelter have been used as fertilizer in the agricultural lands of the school.
The wood from the pruned trees in the campus is used as fuel and some of them were used to create living areas to help the incubation processes.
The Permaculture Club students took care of trees in the area and picked fruit at fruit picking season.
In 2017-2018 academic year, ENKA Schools- Adapazarı aims to expand its agricultural areas to increase productivity and to improve animal shelters.
