Through the unit “You Can’t Judge a Book by Its Cover”, students are learning about diversity, connection and empathy through a variety of activities centered around the novel Freak the Mighty. They are learning about disabilities and disscussing strategies of inclusion and reasons why this is important. Aim of this activity is to raise awareness in our students about diversity and differences in order to create a more inclusive environment in the classroom and their world.
