ENKA with its joint venture partner Bechtel have been carrying out a series of projects since 1993 with the aim of developing the Tengiz Oil Field in the western Kazakhstan region. In the projects it undertakes, ENKA carries out considerable local procurement and thereby supports the economic development of local communities through local procurement activities, and direct and indirect employment. In 2020, the local procurement activities of approximately $13 million were carried out in on-going projects, and the percentage of local employees has reached 87% in the same period.
