As ENKA, we are pleased to share the latest progress in the initiatives we support to help preserve our cultural heritage.
As part of the Knidos–Burgaz–Emecik Apollo Sanctuary Excavation and Research Project, excavation, conservation and restoration works are continuing at the Knidos B Church, the largest place of worship in Knidos—one of the most important centers of culture, art, and science in the ancient world.
Expert archaeologists, conservators and architects are meticulously carrying out the documentation and conservation of the 6th-century AD mosaics. While the mosaics, adorned with depictions of marine life, wild animals, floral motifs and geometric patterns, continue to reveal their remarkable artistic richness, the architectural elements of the structure are also being carefully returned to their original locations.
Once completed, this remarkable monument will welcome visitors through a contemporary exhibition approach. As ENKA, we are proud to the preservation of our shared world heritage and to passing it on to future generations as we continue building the future.
