The $1.9 billion construction contract considered to be the Sultanate’s largest ever construction deal was signed between ASIT (Al Sawadi Investment and Tourism Co), developers of Blue City and ENKA İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş. – Aktor Ate, from Türkiye and Greece respectively on November 7, 2006, for phase one of the Blue City (Al Madina Al Zarqa) coming up at Al Sawadi seaside.
The development of Blue City, in 10 phases, will take 15 years to complete at a total estimated cost of $20 billion. Blue City is Oman’s unique and ambitious project to create a new city at a prime seaside location between Muscat and Barka.
