Çimtaş Precision Machining (CMC) acquired its second National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) certification in February 2019 for its shot peening process following hot on the heels of FPI success.
After the success of its first Nadcap audit, with zero findings for the FPI process, CMC have also passed the audit for Shot Peening.
Shot Peening is a special process for producing a compressive residual stress layer on metals and composites in order to increase the fatigue strength of surfaces. Although shot peening has a wide array of applications such as automotive and construction, its main industry is aviation.
Certification for the FPI and Shot Peening processes is just the beginning. During 2019, CMC will continue to certify its remaining special processes, maintaining our march towards becoming one of the prominent suppliers to the aviation sector.
