The conversion project will transform the site from paper production to cardboard, corrugated packaging and tissue paper production. In Phase 1 of the project activities, a new cardboard factory is being constructed, including a new paper mill, warehouse and dispatch area, combined heat and power (CHP) building and effluent treatment plant (ETP).
The highlights of the progress made on the project are as follows:
– As of mid-July 2023, 261 days and approximately 75,000 person-hours were achieved without lost time incident.
– Quality audits are carried out regularly for work activities in accordance with the Project Quality Plan.
– A progress rate of 75% has been achieved in engineering works.
– Subcontractors mobilized to site for excavation, piling, pile breaking, and reinforced concrete.
– Precast and steel works subcontractors were contracted.
– Preparations for the building facade and roof cladding package have been completed.
– Preparations for the architectural works package are ongoing.
– Building MEP and Process MEP preparations are planned to be completed by the end of July 2023.
– Progress of excavation works stand at 85%.
– The completion rate for pile driving works amounted to 65%.
