As part of its ongoing contribution to strengthening Iraq’s power infrastructure, ENKA has signed a new contract with Taurus Arm for Power Generation for the conversion of the existing 500 MW simple cycle power plant in Sulaymaniyah into a 750 MW combined cycle power plant.
In line with ENKA’s sustainability strategy and its approach of prioritizing projects in challenging geographies that enhance energy efficiency and provide local communities with uninterrupted, safe, and more efficient access to the essential energy needed for sustainable development, this important upgrade will significantly improve the plant’s operational efficiency and increase its energy production capacity.
The plant is scheduled to become operational by March 1, 2028.
