ENKA continues to make significant progress at the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Plant, one of the United Kingdom’s most important energy infrastructure projects, currently under construction in Somerset, England.
In September 2021, ENKA signed a contract with Arabelle Services Ltd. for the prefabrication and erection of piping systems for the conventional power islands of two units, each with a generation capacity of 1,600 MW. Building on its successful involvement in the project, ENKA secured an additional contract in July 2024 covering design verification, material procurement, and the installation of thermal insulation for both piping systems and equipment within the turbine hall.
Following the commencement of preassembly activities in May 2025, permanent works began in June 2025. At peak construction, the project workforce is expected to reach approximately 400 personnel.
As of May 2026, prefabrication and erection works for Unit 1 are progressing steadily, with overall progress at 22%. For Unit 2, prefabrication works are underway, with progress reaching 60%.
The Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Plant will play a vital role in the United Kingdom’s energy future by providing reliable, zero-carbon electricity and strengthening the country’s energy security. The power plant is expected to supply approximately 7% of the nation’s electricity demand.
As construction progresses steadily, ENKA continues to make a significant contribution to the successful delivery of this landmark project.
