Iraq’s first 40-fan W-Frame Air-Cooled Condenser (ACC) is taking shape at Bazian II: the first bundles have been successfully installed.
The project covers the conversion of the existing simple cycle facility into a combined cycle power plant. The Air-Cooled Condenser is one of the core components of this system — it condenses steam turbine exhaust and returns the condensate to the boiler cycle with no water loss.
The compact geometry of the W-Frame design reduces structural height, steel usage, foundation requirements and footprint, while supporting lower internal energy consumption, easy maintenance options and more economical, efficient and reliable operation.
This phase was made possible by the coordinated work of the welding, lifting operation and HSE teams. Installing components of this weight is a direct result of their technical expertise and commitment to safety.
Remaining installation activities continue with the same focus on quality, safety and compliance with the project schedule.
