KASKTAŞ, a fully owned subsidiary of ENKA, continues the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge European Soil Improvement and Bored Pile Works in accordance with the working schedule. The rate of progress on the project has reached 65% by the end of July 2019.
Deep soil mixing (DSM) under the PE3, PE4 and PE5 viaduct foundations has been completed successfully. In the Side Span Pier area, which is the last viaduct foundation, DSM installation has been completed by 25% and it is aimed to be finished by the end of August 2019.
The area between PE5 viaduct foundation and the Side Span Pier has been strengthened by unreinforced diaphragm walls. Diaphragm walls with a maximum depth of 60 m have been installed with hydraulic cutter method. Diaphragm wall installation between Side Span Pier area and the Dardanelles Strait has been completed by 25% and it is aimed to be finished in September 2019.
Ø=1500 mm bored pile installations under the Abutment and PE3 viaduct foundations have been completed. Bored pile installation under PE4 viaduct foundation is on-going. Bored pile installation works, having a maximum depth of 70 m, under PE5 viaduct foundation and the Side Span Pier areas will be commenced in August 2019. The total progress of the bored pile installation is 40% and it is aimed to be completed in October 2019.
