Within the scope of these contracts, ENKA and Bechtel joint venture also undertook the rehabilitation project of Aktau, Kazakhstan’s largest port in the Caspian Sea. The contract included elevating the port by two meters, replacing all the port utilities, and constructing a new 550 m pile supported quay, a new railroad, a port administration building and a 6,500 m² transit shed as well as additional auxiliary buildings.
In the project located in Bautino Bay, ENKA has built a 350 m jetty, 47,800 m² storage area, weigh bridge and loading bridge, passenger transfer office, workshop for precast fabrication, marine mechanical workshop and welding workshop. ENKA still provides offshore marine support services and ship/equipment rental services in the region.
