ENKA is actively advancing its works at the Hinkley Point C Nuclear Power Plant under construction in Somerset, England.
In September 2021, ENKA signed a contract with Arabelle Services Ltd. for the prefabrication and erection of piping systems for the conventional power islands of 2 units, each with a producing capacity of 1,600 MW. In July 2024, ENKA entered into an additional contract for the verification of design, procurement of materials, and installation of thermal insulation for both piping and equipment in the turbine hall.
Preassembly works at the site commenced in May 2025, followed by the start of permanent works in June 2025. The workforce is expected to reach 400 personnel during the peak working period.
As of March 2026, prefabrication and erection works for Unit 1 are ongoing, with overall progress at 19%. For Unit 2, prefabrication works are underway, with progress reaching 55%.
The construction of the new nuclear power station at Hinkley Point C will provide zero-carbon electricity and help secure a diverse and balanced energy supply for the United Kingdom. The power plant is projected to meet 7% of the country’s energy demand.
With steady progress on site, ENKA continues to play a key role in delivering one of the United Kingdom’s most strategic energy investments.
