ENKA had signed the contract for Marine works of the Nassau Cruise Port project at Prince George Wharf in the Bahamas in June 2020.
As of the end of April 2021, a total of 133 tubular piles and sheet piles were installed for the Prince George Wharf combi-wall. The front wall was anchored by the tie rods to the individually driven sheet piles at 90 ft behind the front wall. Concrete capping beam construction for Prince George Wharf commenced earlier than planned and 330 feet corresponding to 1,095 feet of wall length was completed. The combi-wall installation works were extended till Woodes Rogers Walk and the inner harbor front wall of West Marine was completed in order to enclose the reclamation area which will create additional land for various upland structures. A total of 119 tubular piles were driven till this period.
In addition to that piles for finger piers which will serve as yacht and tour boat mooring structures were installed. At the same time, 275 tubular piles were installed as stand-alone piles for the deck on pile structures of West Marine, Cruise Pier Extension and East Marine. While the piling works were pacing faster than the planned, precast beams required for the upper structure fabrication started. 527 piles were driven on the sea within 4 months. While the construction of new structures is ongoing, surface demolishing works have commenced in order to upgrade and renovate the existing piers.
