Within the scope of the Dradenau Combined Heat and Power Plant project, our ENKA Energy Projects Design Group employee Kerem Algüzey participated in a global competition organized by Applied Flow Technologies (AFT). He prepared a detailed model using AFT software to calculate the heat transfer and pressure losses of the “Secondary Water System” of this power plant. Our employee’s study titled “Modeling Hydraulics and Heat Transfer of a state-of-the-art Central Heating Cycle of a Combined Heat and Power Plant” won 1st place as the winner in the “Most Interesting Model” category of the competition, earning him the prestigious Platinum Pipe Award in his field. Based on the information in this model, technical documents necessary for the Secondary Water System were prepared, and our client, Hamburger Energiewerke, has approved our work. The Secondary Water System technology will be used for the first time in a combined heat and power plant in Germany, and ENKA has pioneered the hydraulic and heat transfer modelling for this technology. The award-winning hydraulic and heat transfer model will be compiled into a report by AFT and subsequently published on their official website. We congratulate our employee who was deemed worthy of this award, which is given to the best engineers in system modeling and simulation every year.
