
65 km dual carriageway motorway is a part of the Southeast Europe Core Road Network in which it is referred to as Route 6. The project is linking Kosovo’s capital city Pristina to Hani i Elezit on Macedonian border.
The contract is an EPC contract and Bechtel-ENKA General Partnership is responsible for engineering, procurement and construction of the overall project.
Project scope includes 13 bridges (7,920 meter), 19 overpass, 18 underpass, 240 box and pipe culverts, 19 million m3 excavation, 10 million m3 earth and rock fill, 540,000 m3 concrete, 740,000 m3 subbase & CTB, 595,000 ton asphalt and 170 km guardrail.
As of November 2017, 75% of construction works have been completed, and the first 25 km of the motorway is opened to traffic. Ongoing construction works in the following 10 km will be completed by 31-Dec-2017. According to current project schedule, all construction works will be completed by December 2018.
