Progress of Morava Corridor Motorway Project as of May 2022

As of May 2022, Morava Corridor Motorway Project of ENKA-Bechtel JV located in the West Morava Region of Serbia with approximately a 112 km length from Preljina to Pojate, is progressing rapidly in the Sector 1 and 3. In the meantime, works have started in Sector 2. Furthermore, operation of Plana quarry is expected to start shortly which will result in starting of paving and river regulation activities.

Currently, over 3,500 employees are working with a superior effort for a wide range of works. 17 million m³ of excavation, 6.5 million m³ of fill and 220,000 m³ of concreting works have been completed. In the Sector 1, the majority of earthworks have been completed, and drainage and finishing works are in progress. Piling, foundations, elevations, beam installation and deck construction works are advancing at a rapid pace by the structure team. In the Sector 2, excavation and fill works, embankment scour protection works and piling, foundation and elevation works for bridges are progressing contemporaneously. Preparations of precast girders are also ongoing. In the Sector 3, beam productions have started. Excavation and fill works, embankment scour protection works and piling, foundation and elevation works for bridges are still progressing. In addition, Adrani camp construction is ongoing.

Bechtel-ENKA JV provided HSE and quality trainings to all personnel working on the project according to the requirements of different disciplines, thereby 6 million person-hours were achieved without any lost time incident (LTI).
