Cimtas Precision Machining has extended its National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program (Nadcap) certification for Shot Peening until April 2021. The original approval had been acquired in February 2019.
Cimtas Precision Machining passed the second shot peening audit with zero findings, just like the original audit earlier in 2019.
Shot Peening is a special process that is used to produce a compressive residual stress layer on metals and composites to increase the fatigue strength of surfaces. Even though shot peening has a wide array of applications such as automotive and construction, its main industry of use is aviation.
With a total of 5 Nadcap approved processes and more in the pipeline, CMC is providing its domestic and international customers in the Power, Oil & Gas and Aviation sectors with a wide variety of special processes in addition to its proven fabrication and machining capabilities.
