Bechtel-ENKA JV’s works reached a progress of 99% as of 24 May 2019 in the Core Substation ME&I Installation project in Tengiz.
Commenced on 5 July 2017, the project has employed 510 people at its peak, 92% of which was comprised of Kazakh nationals. The project has achieved 2 Million person-hours without lost time incident.
Once it is completed, the Core Substation will operate as the hub for the distribution of power with the help of equipment, including; 32 prefabricated and pretested modules, five diameter 110kV BAAH GIS switchboard and associated control & protection equipment, 10kV/400V distribution transformers, LV switchgear, UPS systems, system control equipment panels for FLS, ECS, SRC and automatic synchronizing in Tengiz Oil Field.
