Progress of Morava Corridor Motorway Project as of August 2022

As of August 2022, Morava Corridor Motorway Project of ENKA-Bechtel JV located in the West Morava Region of Serbia with approximately 112 km length from Preljina to Pojate, is progressing rapidly in the Sector 1 and 3. In the meantime, works have accelerated in Sector 2. Furthermore, operation of Plana quarry has begun which led to start of paving and river regulation activities.

Currently, over 3,500 employees are working with a superior effort for a wide range of works. 20.5 million m³ of excavation, 7.8 million m³ of fill and 259,000 m³ of concreting works have been completed.

In the Sector 1, the majority of earthworks have been completed, drainage, paving and finishing works are in progress. Piling, foundations, elevations, beam installation and deck construction works are advancing at a rapid pace by the structure team. Laying of subbase in main alignment has started.

In the Sector 2, excavation and fill works, embankment scour protection works and piling, foundation and elevation works for bridges are progressing contemporaneously. Preparations of precast girders are also ongoing while the installation of them is expected to start shortly.

In the Sector 3, beam installations have started. Excavation and fill works, embankment scour protection works and piling, foundation and elevation works for bridges are still progressing. In addition, Adrani (second) camp is partially opened and the construction is expected to finish soon.

A total of 7 million person-hours and 309 days had been worked without any lost time incident (LTI) on the project.
