Following a four-year transformation project to revitalize and expand the Nassau Cruise Port on Prince George Wharf was completed by ENKA and the port was officially open to the public on May 26, 2023.
With the addition of a new berth and the refurbishment and repair of all piers, Nassau Cruise Port will be able to accommodate six cruise ships, per day, including three Icon-class ships, providing expanded tourism to the region. The port opening marks a milestone moment for the Bahamas, as the expansion of the port facilitates an increased capacity from 20,000 passengers per day to over 30,000 passengers per day – resulting in an anticipated four million cruise visitors by the end of 2023.
The new port will be a centre for cultural expression and entertainment, celebrating the vibrant heritage and history of the 300-year-old city of Nassau.
