The works under the 2nd part of the ENKA’s Umm Qasr Multi-purpose Terminal, Container Yard 5, Quay Wall & Marine Works project in Iraq have been completed at a rate of 100% and the temporary taking over certificate has been issued as of April 10, 2021 and defect notification period has been initiated.
Within the scope of the 2nd part of the project; 142 bored piles and 536.5 m of land side crane rail beam were constructed including transition pavement works of 5,600 m2 behind the 550 m quay wall. With the completion of the 2nd part works, BMT Yard 5 Berth is now able to accept Ship to Shore Cranes (STS) for the next phases of the port development project.
ENKA has already completed all the contract scope of works and demobilization of temporary items is currently ongoing at site.
